peanut butter dog cookies

Clearly I’m not alone in my peanut butter addiction….
I decided it was time to attempt making some dog treats, so Mr. Bailey could have his own cookies (and stop begging for mine). So I realize this might push me slightly closer to crazy pet owner status, but these were really (I promise) really easy to make & he loves them. Besides, they are healthier & cheaper than ones at the pet store. (That makes me a little less nuts, right?)
Cookies
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup flour
¼ cup peanut butter, creamy or crunchy
¼ cup vegetable oil
¼ cup honey
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ cup water
*you may need to adjust the flour or water slightly to make the batter the right consistency- it should be just like regular cookie dough
*if your dog has been packing on some pounds, use reduced fat pb instead and substitute the oil with ½ oil and ½ applesauce
Preheat oven to 325 degrees • Combine all ingredients & mix until blended • Form into balls on ungreased cookie sheet • Flatten out cookies with a fork • Bake 15-20 minutes until golden (makes about 20 cookies)
You can eat these too, if you really want, but your dog probably won’t want to share. Don’t forget…. as delicious as chocolate is with peanut butter, dogs canNOT have chocolate!!!!
